These terms cover your use of the authororbit.co.uk website and your purchase and use of the AuthorOrbit software. By buying or using AuthorOrbit, you’re agreeing to them.

Who we are

AuthorOrbit is a product built and sold by Susan Mac Nicol. You can reach us at contact@authororbit.co.uk.

The software

AuthorOrbit is a desktop application that runs on your own Windows or Mac computer. It doesn’t require a cloud account, and your data stays on your machine.

Your licence

When you buy AuthorOrbit, you get a lifetime licence to install and use the software. It’s for your own use as an author running your own business — it isn’t to be resold, redistributed or shared as if it were your own product.

Price and payment

AuthorOrbit is sold as a single one-off payment of £149 for a lifetime licence. Optional add-ons — a done-for-you setup service — are priced and described separately on the pricing page.

Support and updates

AuthorOrbit doesn’t include ongoing technical support or regular app updates as part of the licence fee. The app is designed to work independently, with a built-in ‘How To’ section for every feature. If you do run into an issue, email contact@authororbit.co.uk and we’ll try to help.

AI features

Some optional features use AI, powered by your own API key. Full details are in our AI Transparency Statement.

Refunds

We offer a money-back guarantee on AuthorOrbit — full details are set out in our refund policy. Email contact@authororbit.co.uk for a copy.

Intellectual property

AuthorOrbit — including its software, design and branding — belongs to Susan Mac Nicol. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of it to you; you’re licensed to use the software, not to copy, reverse-engineer or resell it.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use AuthorOrbit for anything unlawful, or in a way that tries to circumvent its licensing. We reserve the right to withdraw support or access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly breached.

No warranty

AuthorOrbit is provided as-is. While we’ve built it carefully and want it to work well for you, we can’t guarantee it will be fault-free or uninterrupted, and we’re not liable for losses arising from its use beyond what’s required by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is always the current one, and we’ll note the date it was last updated at the top.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
